Why it matters
The category draws a boundary around uses considered unacceptable under a particular law or policy.

Can you control it?
Not directly
No direct control. This is a category of use that a law does not allow, or allows only under narrow conditions. Whether a particular use falls into it is a legal question for the organization running the system, not something a reader can adjust.
Common questions
- Is the same practice prohibited everywhere?
- Not necessarily. The relevant law, location and context determine the restriction.
- Can user consent automatically override a ban?
- No. Permission from a user does not by itself remove a legal prohibition.
- Is a company ban the same as a legal ban?
- No. A company can set stricter internal rules, while legal restrictions come from applicable law.
