LATHIC Privacy Notice

LATHIC (“LATHIC,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This notice explains how we handle information when you use lathic.ai or join the LATHIC waitlist.

Information we collect

When you join the waitlist, we collect:

  • your email address;
  • the date and time you joined;
  • the source of the signup, such as the LATHIC website; and
  • a record of the notice and consent language shown when you joined.

Our hosting and security providers may also process limited technical information, such as an IP address, browser information, and request logs, to deliver the site, prevent abuse, and keep the service secure. We do not ask for your name, phone number, payment information, or account credentials to join the waitlist.

Separately, and only if you agree to it, we measure page visits. See Analytics and cookies below.

How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • manage the LATHIC waitlist;
  • send launch updates and early-access invitations;
  • respond to questions or privacy requests;
  • prevent fraud, spam, and misuse; and
  • understand whether the waitlist is working properly.

We do not include your email address in analytics events. We will not use your email address for unrelated marketing without giving you appropriate notice and choice.

How we share information

We use service providers to operate the waitlist and website, including Supabase for database services, Vercel for hosting and delivery, and Google LLC, which provides Google Analytics and receives the page-view information described below if you accept analytics. These providers may process information only to provide services to LATHIC or as otherwise permitted by law.

We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights or safety, investigate misuse, or complete a business transaction such as a merger or acquisition.

We do not sell your email address. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Analytics and cookies

We use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google LLC, to count visits to our pages. We only load it if you choose “Accept analytics.” Until you do, and after you decline, no Google script runs on this site, no request is made to Google, and no analytics cookie is set.

What we measure

If you accept, Google Analytics records a page view each time you open one of our pages or move to another one. It also generates its own standard activity that it needs in order to produce its reports — for example that a visit has started, that a session is in progress, and how long you were engaged with a page. That activity is Google Analytics’ own, and we cannot switch it off while using the product.

Lathic does not send any custom analytics events. The events described above are Google Analytics 4’s standard events.

A page view includes:

  • the address of the page you viewed, including pages in our free AI glossary;
  • the page you came from, such as a search engine or a link;
  • general information about your device, browser, and language;
  • an approximate location derived from your IP address, no more precise than a city; and
  • a randomly generated identifier stored in a cookie, so repeat visits can be counted as one visitor rather than several.

What we never send

We do not create analytics events from your glossary searches, your email address, or anything you enter in a form. We do not send your email address to Google in any form, including a domain or a hashed version of it, and we do not give Google an account identifier for you.

One thing worth being exact about, because it would be easy to overstate: a page view carries the address of the page. So the URL of a glossary term page does tell Google which term page was viewed, in the same way it does for any other page on the site. What we do not do is send a separate glossary-term event, or send the text you type into the glossary search box. That text is used on your device to find a match and is never transmitted anywhere.

We also keep Google’s advertising features switched off, even when you have accepted analytics. Google Analytics is set to deny advertising storage, advertising user data, and ad personalization, and we do not enable Google signals. Accepting measurement does not mean accepting advertising.

Cookies

If you accept, Google Analytics sets two first-party cookies:

  • _ga distinguishes one visitor from another; and
  • _ga_<container-id>, where the container id identifies our Google Analytics stream, maintains session state.

No cookie is set before you accept, and both are deleted when you turn analytics off.

Changing your mind

Use the Analytics preferences link in the footer of any page, or here:

When you turn analytics off, we record your choice, tell Google Analytics to stop collecting, delete the cookies above, and reload the page so the script and everything it loaded are gone. It is not loaded again on any later visit unless you accept again. Your choice is stored in your browser rather than in a cookie, so it applies to the browser you made it in; if you clear your browser storage, we will ask again.

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, we treat that as a decline and do not ask.

Retention

We keep your waitlist information while you remain subscribed and for as long as reasonably necessary to provide launch and early-access updates, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the service. If you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your information, we will delete or de-identify it unless we need to retain a limited record of your request to honor your communication preference or comply with law.

Your choices and rights

You can unsubscribe from waitlist emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link in an email or contacting us at hello@lathic.ai.

You can turn analytics on or off at any time using the Analytics preferences link in the footer of any page, or here:

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, or to withdraw consent. To make a request, email hello@lathic.ai. We may need to verify your request before completing it.

Children

The waitlist is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us so we can delete it.

International processing

LATHIC and its service providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

Changes to this notice

We may update this notice as the waitlist or our practices change. We will post the updated notice with a new effective date. If a change materially affects how we use information already collected, we will provide additional notice when required.
